TA Stipends
Beginning Master's students earn $9,350 until they have completed 18 graduate credit hours, and then they earn $11, 350. Doctoral level students earn $12, 350. Until a graduate student has completed 18 hours they are Teaching Assistants; after completing 18 hours they become Graduate Part-Time Instructors (GPTIs).
Teaching Assistantships (two years at the M.A. level and four years at the doctoral) qualify the holders for resident (in-state) tuition, plus rebate of most tuition and many fees. See Graduate School Financial Information.
Additional teaching assignments are usually available in the summers.
