Research and Teaching
assistantships are available in aqueous and environmental
geochemistry. Students with a background in geochemistry,
chemistry, materials science, or geology are encouraged to
apply.
A wide variety of research
opportunities exists. For example, a variety of
mineral-solution interface reactions are being examined;
interface reactions of nanoparticles are being investigated; as part of a large
environmental study the form of perchlorate in evaporative
salts is being determined; and iron-sulfate complexation is
being measured for acid mine drainage geochemistry studies.
