Environmental and Aqueous Geochemistry - 5305

Dr. Ridley's HomepageCourses taught by Dr Ridley Geosciences CoursesGeoscience Homepage

The course expands on and discusses concepts introduced in inorganic geochemistry (GCH 5405). The course focuses on the interaction of natural aqueous solutions with geologic materials in natural surface and sub-surface environments. Topics studied include: thermodynamics and chemical kinetics, carbonate geochemistry, solid/solution interface chemistry, acid-base reactions, organic and biogeochemical reactions, the use of isotopes in environmental geochemistry.

(Course may be repeated for credit).
